About us

The ‘Mills of Rodia, Grevenon’ is a family business which was first established in 1937. We are the fourth generation currently continuing this business.

Our very first mill was a watermill, which then developed into a Buhrstone mill until it reached its final form, a most contemporary wheat flour cylinder milling machine.

We go a long way back when our great-grandfather, Eythimis Liolios with our grandfather Grigoris took the decision to become millers, thus constructing our first mill. In the location of ‘Sidiniko’ where the village of Rodia borders the plateau and water runs abundant, our beloved ancestors built a beautiful, traditional watermill. The wheat flour ground by our mill soon became popular in the area and our great-grandfather and grandfather soon became popular household names in the vicinity.

In 1950 our stone mill was constructed and our uncle Panagiotis also became active in the family business. Eight years later our parents took over the business and this signified a tremendous change in terms of more modern flour processing. They started using the so-called ‘burata’, the sifting of flour and its detraction from wheat bran.

In 2000 we originally started our contemporary cylinder wheat flour milling business with 2 silos in the previously mentioned location. Further on, we established a five-storey state-of-the-art wheat flour milling machine. It includes 10 robot-cylinders for packaging and operates according to all technical requirements, performance requirements, thereby the quality of the flour processed in this way is of the highest standards. Our 2 state-of-the-art milling machines, with 2 production lines and the ability to process 170 tons of wheat flour a day were constructed by the most prominent flour processing equipment manufacturers in the world.

The maintenance of our raw material, the wheat, is assisted through ventilation in our silos whenever deemed necessary and the wheat is also measured in calories. Our business also includes a well-organized chemistry lab where all our products undergo thorough checks before they can finally become available in the market.

We should not forget to mention that with utter care and respect to the needs of our customers, and due to our love for a business passed on from generation to generation, we gather wheat of the highest quality from the whole area of western Macedonia. These wheat varieties are then ground under perfect health and safety conditions. After they have been sifted and thoroughly checked, they are finally made available to consumers.

Thus, the technology and expertise applied in conjunction with the best wheat harvested from the fertile soil of western Macedonia have established us as a highly competitive wheat flour manufacturing business. We are able therefore to come up with a final product without any impurities or preservatives.

Our ceaseless productivity allows us to constantly provide the market with our products (transported with our very own trucks), whether this concerns industries, manufacturing companies or very small businesses. Our business caters to both wholesalers and retailers.

The wheat produced by our company is available in 5 types of packaging, one-kilo, 3-kilo, 5-kilo,10-kilo and finally 25-kilo packets.
